Hello, I would like to know how to put a break (on a measure of 4/4 and the break would be in the beginning of the measure) and a quarter note.

Is there any owner manual ? That would be VERY appreciate and USEFUL.

Thanks !

Kareen H.

    Hey Kareen,

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by break here, so apologies if I'm misinterpreting what you're asking. If you're referring to a rest, you can notate one by simply not adding any notes to a division.

For example, when you create a new document, you'll be given a measure containing a single division with whole note duration. To start with a quarter note rest, you can press Q to change the duration to quarter note (or tap the - key a few times to decrease the duration). Then press space to add a new division and add some notes to it. This will give you a quarter note rest at the beginning of the measure.

Let me know if that's not what you meant and I'll be happy to clarify further!

I'm planning on releasing an official owner's manual / help guide in the future, but unfortunately there isn't one yet. The in-app tutorial can guide you through the basics, and for anything else I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.

    Hope this helps!

I would like to make a suggestion concerning the development of an app that would be very appreciated by musicians who like me don’t know how to write music but who make great tunes.

That would be an app that would be able to « hear » notes played, to detect the scale used, the bends, hammer on and off, the silences, and all it needs to make a tune, etc.

I think you’d be able to do develop such an app. This would be very useful not only to those who do not know how to write music, but also to all those who consider that writing a song as they go breaks their inspiration when they improvise.

Please, if it is possible for you to submit that suggestion to your boss, that would be very appreciated. And if he wants more information, I’d be please to help him out.

    Thank you very much,

Hey Kareen, sorry for the very late reply! It's been a very hectic month for me.

I appreciate the feedback, and I think that's a great app idea! I will say that it's challenging enough to keep Tabular up to date as a solo developer, so unfortunately I don't think it's feasible for me to build another app at the same time. But I do have some ideas that I want to eventually incorporate into Tabular that I think are along the same lines, so hopefully a future version of the app will be better equipped to do what you're looking for!

I would like to know if there is a way to put a number on each of the measures ? If not, maybe a suggestion for the next version or the next update ?

Hey Kareen! There's no way to number the measures at the moment, but I agree that it would be a nice feature to have. I'll see if I can squeeze it into the next update. Thank you for the suggestion!
