I think I created my previous issue without creating a login to your the chromaticlabs.tenderapp.com/discussion site, so I can't seem to append to my current open issue ("Discussions are closed to public comments").

To answer your question, I waited roughly 15 minutes before giving up. At least two other tab documents opened fine, but that one reliably made Tabular lockup indefinitely (to my utter mystification).

However I think it may have been related to an iTunes match/iCloud background download issue. I had recently added a bunch of mp3s (Joseph Alexander guitar exercises!) to iTunes and tried to download them from iCloud onto my iPad but they were failing. The iPad kept retrying in the background.

I turned off iTunes match on the iPad and then synched those songs manually via USB hard-wired from my home Mac. Everything appears to be behaving fine now.

Thanks for the assistance and the great app! I'm looking forward to the Yosemite version.

Oh, that's very interesting! Perhaps there's a limit on the number of things that iCloud tries to download at once across the entire device, and so those queued iTunes Match files could have been blocking the download of the Tabular file. Although if other documents were opening fine, I'm really not too sure what's actually going on.

I'll keep an eye out for this issue and see if I can figure out exactly why this is happening. I also may be rewriting the iCloud storage in a future update to take advantage of new iCloud APIs that Apple has added for Yosemite and iOS 8, which could inadvertently solve the problem.

Thanks again, and best of luck with your guitar practice!
