Hello, I'm using Tabular 1.2.3. and OS 10.9.1
I'm having problems with adding an new track and editing a existing track.
A guitar track and a keyboard track I cannot edit. Only a drum and a bass track.
In all cases I cannot add a new track. Please help .

    Hey Jan,

Sorry to hear about that! What exactly is happening when you try to create or edit a track?

Jarod, thank you for your quick respons.

    1. Your app is great, I worked with it for 2 days and I'm loving it !
    2. there are some issues:
    a. adding a new track or editing an existing one does not always work. If you try to add a new track by menu or right mouse: nothing happens. Same goes for editing. (editing a drum track and bass track works well !)
    b. the fretboard does come up, but with every note you hit, it becomes smaller.
I've made 2 quicktime screen movies (enclosed) so you can see what happens. I hope you can open them. If not, please let me know !

Thanks for the videos, they're very helpful!

Could you possibly send me the document from the first video? I'm having trouble tracking down the cause of the issue with editing tracks, and I think it may have something to do with that particular document.

The issue with the fretboard disappearing is caused by the visible scroll bars. Unfortunately, until I get that problem fixed, the only way to prevent that from happening is to turn off the always-visible scroll bars in your system preferences. I'll try to get that fixed for the next update.

Hey, apologies for the late reply, but there's an update to the app that may help with this problem. Could you make sure you're updated to the latest version (1.2.4) and let me know if this is still happening?

    Jarod, thanks again.

The problem with the fretboard isuue is obvious solved !! THANX but the problem with new track and edit track isn't.
I still can't change an existing track (except drums and bass) or add a new one even when I create a new file.

Hmmm, that's unfortunate -- I can't seem to reproduce the issue. If you don't mind, doing the following would give me some more information on what's causing the problem.

Open up the Console app (located at /Applications/Utilities/Console.app). Then open up Tabular and try to create or edit a track so that the problem occurs. Then inside the Console app, at the bottom left there should be a list that includes Tabular in it. If you click on that it should filter down the messages to just Tabular. If you could send me the messages that show up, that would be really helpful. If it's too long, the most recent couple hundred lines should be okay.

Great, thanks so much. That's actually really helpful -- it'll still take a little time to track down the issue, but I have something to go off of now. I'll try to get back by to you the end of the day (California time) with how to fix this.

Alright, I believe it's having trouble loading your presets or tunings, so let's try backing them up and removing them.

First we'll need to locate the directory they're stored in. If you're using iCloud, press Command + Shift + G in Finder and type in ~/Library/Mobile Documents. Inside that folder you should find a folder that's named something like 4RBCXVRV5H~com~chromaticlabs~tabular. The numbers and letters at the beginning may be different. You'll want to open that folder and then go inside the Documents directory.

If you're not using iCloud, press Command + Shift + G in Finder and type in ~/Library/Containers/com.chromaticlabs.tabular/Data/Tabular/Release and you'll be at the equivalent folder for local storage.

Inside the directory you should see folders named Presets and Tunings. We want to back these up and then run the app. The easiest way would be to just rename those folders to something like "Presets 2" and "Tunings 2" while the app is closed. After doing that, run the app again and try to create or edit a track.

If that works, you can start restoring your custom tunings and presets by moving them back where they were (you'll want to remove or empty out the new Tunings and Presets folders that should have been created). You should try just restoring a few at a time, since bringing all of them back will just put the app back in the same state it was before. Eventually you should be able to narrow down which ones are causing problems.

I hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

Jarod, again thanks for your quick and clear support.
Unfortunately this did not help. Even with a fresh set of presets and tunings the problem remains.

I can imagine that you want to solve this problem but as far as I'm concerned there's no rush. Tomorrow I'm leaving for 3 weeks Africa an even if the app stays like it is now, I can bypass the problem with editing a track that is actually edible , like the drum and bass-track. So take your time and again thanks very much for your support !!!

    Hey Jan!

Apologies for the very long delay in resolving this issue. I've finally located the bug -- it appears to occur when the fretboard color scheme is set to color by note name. This'll be fixed in the next update, but in the mean time you can get around the issue by changing that preference to something else.

Sorry for the trouble this whole time, and thanks again for all your help earlier!
